I was inspired by the way Hollie of Holliewood studios
www.deviantscrap.com made her son look like a stencil. So had a play with the filters in photoshop. I used the stamp filter and played around with brushes, gradients and masks to get this look. Also used a light effects brush that I got from one of my Photoshop Creative magazines-freebees.
